In June of 2016 I resigned from my job as an English teacher at a public middle school to spend time with my kiddos: being with them while they are at home and having the time to nurture their love of learning has always been a dream of mine.
My Teaching Experience
I have taught in three countries – the U.S., Taiwan and Bermuda – and have nine years of experience in the classroom. I taught English, social studies and English as a second language, mostly at the middle school level. I have my bachelor’s degree in middle school language arts education and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus in literacy.
During my time in the classroom, I worked with a wide range of students: struggling and reluctant readers, some of whom walked into my classroom kicking the door as they entered, and advanced students who sat international exams two years early and passed.
Now, I am on a new adventure: homeschooling and spending time with my two boys (4 1/2 and 2 years), raising them on my island home of Bermuda.
On this blog, I’ll share my favorite resources, resources I’ve created, our favorite books and my musings about homeschooling and learning.
